Easy Cheesy Guacomole

IMG 8630 IMG 8654

Easy indeed but not really cheesy.

Ingredients:
1 Hass Avocado, Ripe (They are darker in color almost black when they are ripe)
4 tablespoons of your favorite salsa
2 teaspoons of lemon or lime to taste (optional)

Directions:
Cut avocado in half. Take the seed out. Scoop into bowl. Add salsa and mash avocado up. Add lime or lemon to taste. I got this recipe from my aunt. It's quite simple.

Budding Cooking Tip #3: Leave the seed in the bowl to keep the guacomole from browning.

I thought it's the lemon or lime that keeps the avocado from browning?

I've actually tried this recipe, and I absolutely love it. It tastes substantially better than any packaged guacomole mixes or store container guacomole that I have tried in the past. Simple, but tasty. By the way, where's the cheesy part? :) If you want cheese, I love to sprinkle parmesan cheese on my guac and add tomatoes seasoned with garlic salt to garnish. Yum.

sim - i'm not sure where i've heard it. but i googled it and indeed both lemon and the seed can prevent browning. :) hehe

mushroom - it's not cheesy at all actually. :) but thanks for the tip. i should go buy some parmesan.
