Question: What is boba?
To answer WokAndSpoon : Those little balls on the bottom of the milk tea are called boba or Tapioca balls balls. :D Places have been springing up all over Southern California for years now. I love the mini ones. Yum. Above is my partially full drink from Lollicup. On the bottom it states, "Please drink slowly to avoid choking ...!" Yikes I just looked up the nutritional value and it's 440 calories for 16 fluid oz of boba milk tea. Wah I cry inside.

hahahaha! I didn't know how fatty it was. YUMMY.
Ohhhh, you mean bubble tea! hehe! I think that's what they call it in Melbourne!
YUM!
ps. Yep - I love that stuff too! Esp. the big straw that you get to suck up all the little balls! ;-)
oohhh ... I love bubble tea :) I used to have one every day when I was working in Singapore till I read the calorie content and how much sugar there are in 1 cup of bubble tea. Yikes!
Boba and Bubble Tea...I know them both while in Singapore. I prefer those without milk though. The boba craze in S'pore has died, though.
440!! Ahh! Flashback to the time I found out how many calories a Grande Mocha at Starbucks had. ;)
YUMMY!
mushroom- me either. i'm kinda of sad. :( but it'll help YOU fatten up.
wokandspoon- ah yeah over here they call it boba tea. :D bubble sounds cute though. :)
ninja - it makes me not want to drink it anymore. :( oh well i'll try to limit my intake.
tiger - down here in southern ca it too has died down a bit. how is it up north?
caroline - yes boo to all tasty drinks. :D they are addictive though aren't they.
Do boba drinks have that many calories? Well, I can't say I'm too surprised. They're so filling.
I've never had mini boba...just the big ones that you could choke on if you drink too fast. ;)
Mmmmmm, boba. Now that we're out of OC there are hardly any around. The closest one we know of is like 20 minutes away by freeway! We miss it!
